Christ In The Hands of The Police

John 18:12-13 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him, And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.

Have you ever pondered all the indignities and injustices that Christ suffered on our behalf? When you do, you'll appreciate even more the sacrifice Jesus made for you and me.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, after Christ had prayed, a mob came to arrest Him. About sixty-five men, brandishing torches, swords, and spears, came to take one man, Jesus Christ, away. Judas signaled to the mob which man was Jesus by kissing Jesus' cheek. After rebuking Judas by saying, "Betrayest thou the Son of Man with a kiss?" Jesus identified Himself to the men and allowed them to bind His hands and lead Him away. Though mightier than Samson, He didn't use His power to break free.

First the mob led Him to Annas, the high priest, and then to Caiaphas, Annas' son-in-law. Both the Jews and the Romans tried Jesus, and both trials were farces. Scholars point out that, when trying Jesus, the Jews violated Jewish law thirty-five times, and the Romans violated Roman law thirteen times, making a total of forty-eight violations. Jewish law required that the people go to great lengths to find defense witnesses, but in Jesus' case the judge found false witnesses and paid them to testify against Jesus. And when the Sanhedrin asked Jesus "whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God," they forced Him to testify against Himself. The high priest declared Jesus guilty, and everyone began to spit on Him, tear His beard, and hit Him.

Josephus, the Jewish historian, tells us that the name of the high priest,Caiaphas, means rock. And Peter, Jesus' disciple, was called Cephas, which also means rock. So we have Jesus at the trial caught between two rocks - one in the courtroom accusing Him and one in the courtyard denying Him. Caiaphas' heart remained a rock, but Peter's heart broke, and Christ forgave him.

What a Savior we have! Our Creator submitted Himself to such humiliation at the hands of His own creation so that we might receive His forgiveness. Thank Jesus today for all He has done for you , especially for that day when He bore such degradation in our place.

The Proof Is In The Pudding!

Here is my first check. I am so excited. $500 for a few weeks worth of work and I got to stay home with my kids the entire time!! What more can a mom ask for?

Ode to Spring-like Weather

We had some beautiful weather today! When I checked the temperature this afternoon it was 72*. I didn't get to enjoy it in it's entirety, but I did enjoy the fact that my kids were able to play outside ALL day long. I'm hoping that all the fresh air will help them to sleep really well tonight!

Today, was actually the first day in a long time that I haven't had a couple dozen phone calls or any presentations to do. I actually got to clean part of my house today. The rest of the day I spent updating my new laptop. I am mostly caught up on my laundry, but I'm nowhere close to being done with all of my housework. You don't really know what all it entails to have a job and still be able to keep up with the housework, until you are right in the midst of it! I am so enjoying my job though, that I am willing to do what it takes to make it work. I am determined to get enough semblance of order around here soon, that I will be able to keep up with everything.

The kids have been doing really well. It seems that they are getting along alot better recently and playing really well together. (knock on wood!) I am so thankful for that.

Tyler is working on crawling. He 'army crawls' everywhere he wants to go and gets there fast enough that I don't know if I WANT him to crawl anytime soon. He's getting so big. It makes me sad to see how fast he has grown and all the new milestones he's crossing. He's still such a sweet baby, but he definitely has a mind of his own. With the stubbornness of both his mom and his dad, I can see it already rearing it's not so pretty head, but we're trying to stay on top of it. He's definitely giving us a run for our money!

It's been nice to be able to catch up on things here. I hope I haven't bored you all to death with my random boring-ness. Life has been busy, but it hasn't held anything really news worthy and for that I am grateful.

Buyer Beware (part II)

Don't think you're safe, just because you don't find quaternium-15 in your products. It is disguised in other ways as well.

I was just looking over my Baby Magic "Gentle" baby lotion and I didn't find quaternium-15, so I thought, "Oh good! I get to use this on my baby and he'll still smell oh so yummy!"

WRONG!!

The very last ingredient in it is called Diazolidinyl Urea. I did another google search on this ingredient and this is what I found:

Diazolidinyl urea is an antimicrobial preservative used in cosmetics. It is chemically related to imidazolidinyl urea which is used in the same way. Diazolidinyl urea acts as a formaldehyde releaser.

Uses
It is used in many cosmetics, skin care products, shampoos and conditioners, as well as a wide range of products including bubble baths, baby wipes and household detergents. Diazolidinyl urea is found in the commercially available preservative Germaben.

Safety
Some people have a contact allergy to imidazolidinyl urea causing dermatitis[1]. Such people are often also allergic to diazolidinyl urea.

Diazolidinyl urea, as a formaldehyde releaser, is sometimes used in cosmetic products as a preservative, was recently re-classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer to its highest toxic class, IARC 1 (known human carcinogen). Formaldehyde is classified as a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which provides sufficient evidence that formaldehyde causes nasopharyngeal cancer in humans by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.[2]

It has been banned in Europe, after studies concluded that effects can result in: carcinogen, causes allergic reactions and contact dermatitis; headaches; irritates mucous membranes; damaging to eyes; linked to joint and chest pain; depression; headaches; fatigue; dizziness and immune dysfunction.

Scary isn't it? And we are putting this stuff on our kids from infancy, when their immune systems aren't even developed to fight off the effects of this stuff!! Plus it doesn't all pass out of their body and can therefore sit somewhere inside them and cause long term damage.

Please be careful with your children. They trust you to do what's right for them.

P.S. What is Urea?, you may ask. Well, here you go.

It is dissolved in blood (in a concentration of 2.5 - 7.5 mmol/liter) and excreted by the kidney as a component of urine. In addition, a small amount of urea is excreted (along with sodium chloride and water) in sweat

Me and My Laptop!

Well, here I sit. It's 11:46 pm and I'm still not in bed.

I spent the better part of the day running around comparing prices on laptop computers and cordless phones. That is not an easy task with two children in tow, but we made it through and now I'm sitting here on my couch having fun playing with my new toy.

And I'm loving it!!

This is a business tool, but it's MY business, so I get to set the rules. And so far, there are no rules!

I'm going to have lots of fun navigating around this thing in the next couple days, but I'm also going to actually be using it for work too! LOL I have a presentation that I have to do tomorrow, and I'm hoping to be able to do some online enrollments then. That would be GREAT!

That being said, I should probably GO TO BED so I can get some rest. I think I have everything together that I will need, but you never know what the last minute details will entail.

Buyer Beware!

I have just recently found a little gold nugget of information that I thought I should share with you all.

If you will do a google search on quaternium-15, a little ingredient put in baby wash, cosmetics, shampoos and conditioners, just to name a few, you will find that it just so happens to be a FORMALDAHYDE releaser! Yep, you read that right. Formaldahyde. The same CHEMICAL they use to embalm dead people! It is a KNOWN cancer causing agent and yet 'they' still use it in BABY WASH!

Our skin is our biggest organ, so therefore we are going to absorb anything into our system that is put on our skin. Ignorance is NOT bliss. It could actually be fatal!

Please be careful what you put on your babies skin. They can't do anything about it, but you can, as their parent, make the necessary changes to protect them.

Houston, We Have A Problem

We have been having a few technical difficulties here at the 'House of Hearts' lately, but I think we've got them taken care of and are ready to roll.

February was an incredibly busy month for us here. I just recently signed up as a marketing executive for a leading wellness company and have been busy getting other people signed up to try their products. Last months promotion was $1500.00 if you got 8 people signed up. And guess what? I DID IT!! I am so anxious to get my first check. This is the first time I've actually worked a home-based business and I absolutely LOVE IT!! It is so incredibly easy and enjoyable and I know that I'm helping people improve their lives by getting safer cleaning products into their homes. It's definitely a win/win situation.

Cheyenne's birthday was also last month. We had a party for her ON her birthday and then another one on that Saturday. She had a great time with her friends here. We had pin the tail on the donkey and a pinata. It was crazy loud, but so much fun.

The Lord has been so good to us! With all the busyness that has been going on, I have actually found MORE time to spend with my kids. I haven't been wasting time on my computer, I've been utilizing the time I spend on here to help my business grow and that makes me feel much more productive, therefore making me a happier, more involved mommy!

Cheyenne asked me the other day, "What does your business cost, mommy?" I said, "What do you mean? There's a small sign up fee and then the cost of the products that you buy. Why?" She said, "Because, if you die, and I'm like seventeen and I have to take care of the boys while daddy's at work and someone calls and wants to know about Melaleuca, then I'll have to know so I can tell them." She is fully supportive of me and my new venture. So is my wonderful hubby! I couldn't ask for more.

Happy 6th Birthday Chey!

Cheyenne turned 6 years old on Tuesday, February 19th. Wow!! Where has the time gone? I can't believe my baby girl is already SIX!! She is such a wonderful helper for Momma, and an excellent big sister to her two brothers!

This was her reaction to a RING her daddy bought for her!

She was awestruck and whispered, "OH! Daddy!!"

This was a gift she got about 2 weeks ago.
We named her Belle.
She has made herself a nice bed in the kids' wagon.
This was SUPPOSED to be a ladybug cake, but even after a WHOLE dropper of food coloring, it only turned out PINK! GRR Oh, and it wasn't edible either. YUCK!
So happy to be SIX!!
Wow!! She has enjoyed getting to learn how to ride a BIG bike.
The other one she has is a little too small for her and this one is just a little too big, but she's doing well with it!
She really wanted to eat at the Mexican restaurant on her birthday, but we forgot to go, so we ended up going the next day. She was very excited about eating a chimichanga and getting to wear the sombrarro while they sang to her! She's funny!

Happy Birthday, Beautiful. Mommy and Daddy love you so, so much!!

Is That SNOW?!?

Believe it or not, but there IS snow on the ground. The kids were so excited when they saw it falling. Travis has been asking all morning if he could go outside. It's about 20 degrees, but it feels so much colder due to the humidity in the air. We got lots of rain yesterday, so that contributes to the wet-cold.
