To Heal A Broken Heart

Cheyenne usually gets to go to work with Daddy on Fridays, but this week will be different. She won't be able to go this week because he has a really big barn to move Friday and can't watch her while doing that. She was pretty upset this morning when she heard that, so I told her that we could do something extra fun today.

Anything that she wanted.

She said she didn't know, so I told her to think about it until school was over and then we could do whatever she chose.

Well, she chose...baking chocolate chip cookies.

I got everything laid out,

(and YES a phone is an essential ingredient in cookies!)

and she added the ingedients.

(minus the phone)

A little of this,

and a little of that.


We learned that 3 x 4 = 12

and 4 x 3 = 12

We also learned that in order to have CHOCOLATE CHIP cookies,

you have to actually ADD the chocolate chips!!

Much better!

There's nothing quite like cookie dough

to make a girl forget about her problems!

All in all it was a pretty good substitute to spending a day with daddy.

Sweet Sleep

After kind of a rough day yesterday where the little man thought he only needed to sleep for 10 minutes at a time, we had a WONDERFUL night. I put him to bed at 9:30 and he didn't wake up until 4:00. That's 6 1/2 hours of blissful sleep!! YAY! After that he slept again until 8:00. That's 10 1/2 hours of sleep that I got last night. The most I've gotten in over a year!! Wow, do I feel good!

My Ideal Date Is: Anytime in October

Because, it's not too hot and it's not too cold. All you need is a light jacket!

Cheyenne is 5 years old this school year and has started 1st grade. She absolutely LOVES her math. She likes her other subjects too, but Math is by far her favorite. Today she had her first test and was so excited to get an A!

Well, here is the video of Cheyenne's pageant FINALLY! It took a sweet forever to load and now it's giving me fits staying loaded. Hopefully it works for you at least once. You'll have to excuse the extra footage at the beginning and the end. Johnny was practicing his video-ing on the girl in front of Chey, and then forgot to shut if off at the end. Enjoy!

First Day of School

We started school today and both of the kids were so excited. We're hoping to do at least 2 lessons a day and finish up early again next year. Right now it's mostly just review for Cheyenne, but Travis is learning his 'same' and 'different', 'long' and 'short', 'bigger' and 'smaller'.

For our Bible class, we learned about God changing Abram's name to Abraham and that he was 99 years old when that happened.
