Sew On and Sew Forth

I finally got my baby gifts done for the baby shower tomorrow. It took me most of the day today, but it was alot of fun. I am still working on a crocheted blanket for her, but that will have to be a gift for when the baby actually gets here.

Here is what I did:

Two of each of these burp cloths.

One receiving blanket. (super soft on the pink side)

Two bibs. (the A is for Aimee)

One hooded towel.

All in all I think it turned out pretty cute and I hope she enjoys it.

Now we're off to soccer practice and then I have to start getting ready for another house warming party for my sister-in-law.

Have a great week!

On Egg Laying

Have you ever tried to explain a somewhat 'delicate' subject to your children while not giving too many details?

Well apparently that's not how we work around here.

We were in the car yesterday and as we drove past a pond with a flock of geese in it, Travis piped up from the backseat, "Daddy said that when a chicken lays an egg it pushes it out it's butt!" Amidst much laughter, I said, "Is that really what he said?" "Yeah, Momma!"

So at the dinner table last night I reiterated the conversation to Johnny and he said, "Yeah. How else are you supposed to explain it?"

Just like that. That's how.

So, the dinner conversation carried on to other birds and dinosaurs and of course... HUMANS. I think we were able to keep it somewhat on the birds and their eggs and in the midst of this Cheyenne looks at me with a puzzled yet certain look on her face and says, "But that's NOT a very big hole!"

Truer words were never spoken, sweetie.

Random

We have been in school just over three weeks now and things are going very well. Here are a few pictures of Cheyenne's cursive writing. I must say I am very proud of her. She is doing an excellent job with it.

She is also learning about graphs this year. We have reviewed horizontal graphs and have started on vertical graphs. I was explaining to her how she can remember which one goes which way and I asked her, "ok, now which one goes up and down?" Her reply? "the vertizontal?"

Last week the fair came to town. Cheyenne was able to practice with the kids at the school for the races they have at the fair, so there was alot of driving back and forth to town last week. I am so glad that is over. Between soccer practice, practice for the races, soccer games and competing in the races, we made about 12 trips into town.
The Christian school has a food booth that they run to raise money for the school so I made some pies to sell there.

And I will be working on some baby gifts and some Christmas gifts this week, so I will be posting pictures of that later on.
