HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Well, the turkey's ready to go in the oven, and the bread is rising so I thought I'd take this time to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

As much as I wish we could be with my family for Thanksgiving, I am going to make the most of being here. We will have Lester and Marlene over for lunch and the plan is to go outside and do some shooting while the turkey cooks. After lunch we will go over to their house and watch football. If we can't talk the guys into playing games with us, then Marlene and I will probably play something with the kids. We are going to do our best to make fun and happy memories of the Holidays for them.

Some of my fondest memories of Thanksgiving and Christmas are of going to my Grandma's house and being with all of the family. My Grandma would slave all day to feed everyone, with the help of the other ladies in the family of course, but I was too young to think that was important enough to remember! LOL Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, cranberry sauce, (no Holiday meal is complete without cranberry sauce!), rolls, stuffing, and plenty of dessert for all! One time, I remember my Grandma put a slotted spoon in the gravy just to see what the guys would do!! The reaction was pretty funny, although they all thought she had lost her mind! LOL There was a big table set up in the back room of her house so that everyone could sit together, and after lunch and clean-up they would bring the cards out and everyone would get to play at one time or another. The kids were very rarely left out! I love you Grandma and Grandpa!! And miss you so much!! I hope you are doing well, and that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

I am going to try to make this a very good Thanksgiving for us here and keep my memories close at hand, so that I can at least FEEL close to everyone today, since I can't actually BE close to everyone!

In Everything Give Thanks

Well, this post is just to forwarn all that I will be posting more pictures soon. I have, just today, found a chip for my camera that I have been looking for for a very long time!! I was really upset when I lost it and we all prayed that we would find it, but it didn't show up until this morning, 3 months later!! I had about 239 pictures on it, so you can see why I would be upset! Hopefully I won't bore you with all my pictures and rambling, but I would like to get them posted.

To start my Thanks-giving: I am very thankful that I found this chip. I will be able to preserve more memories of my kids now!! Thank you LORD!!

Fairy GodMother? Nope!

Tonight, Cheyenne was walking around the house with her princess wand, "changing" all of us into different things. She changed me into a princess and her daddy into a prince. She changed Travis into a horse and then a pony. Then I tried to use her wand to "change" her into something, so I told her she was a white horse, and she said, "No, Mommy, I'm the Fairy GrandMother!"

She's too much fun!!

Beau looks a little unsure in this picture, but I think it was just the timing of the picture, because he doesn't really care that Travis sits on him! LOL

Beau (6 months)

Whenever Beau is in the house sleeping, Travis makes a beeline for him and lays right on top of him. He loves his 'BeauDog'. Beau doesn't even care, as you can see in the pictures. He's the best dog for kids. Very laid back, carefree and LAZY!!!

He is definitely a beloved member of this family.

More Changes

Yesterday was a very busy day for us. After getting up early to vote (at polls that didn't open until an hour later), Johnny had a business meeting. It rained all morning, so that meant that he wouldn't have any work. After the business meeting he came home and started taking measurements of our laundry room. We've been wanting to get it remodeled for some time now, but have been waiting for a dryer. Johnny's parents bought that for us for our anniversary, so we didn't have any more excuses.

We headed out to try voting one more time (which was successful) and then to take Cheyenne to piano lessons. When she got done with that we made a trip to Lowe's. Since we bought our house, I have loved going to stores like that. We got home around 5:30 and started in. Here are a few 'before' and 'after' pictures for you. (I just about forgot the 'before' pictures again!)

These first pictures make the yellow look too bright. It's actually more the color of the one with the border.
